Ship it out: Louisiana is listed as the third-largest exporter to the Netherlands among U.S. states in a new report from the Royal Netherlands Embassy. According to the report, Louisiana exported $3.1 billion worth of goods to the European nation in 2011. Investments in Dutch companies accounts for approximately 5,600 jobs in Louisiana, the report says, while exports to the country are responsible for another 20,355 jobs. Seamless transitions: The University of Phoenix and Louisiana Community & Technical College System have announced the formation of a strategic agreement to help students bridge the educational gap between two- and four-year degree programs. Under the agreement, students can earn an associate degree at any LCTCS member college campus and then seamlessly transition to a bachelor’s degree program at University of Phoenix.
