Take your mark: In response to a lawsuit filed by Tony Chachere’s Friday, Lake Charles-based Big Easy Foods is calling allegations that it has stolen package designs and infringed on the Tony Chachere’s trademark “frivolous and without merit.” Big Easy Foods, formerly French Market Foods, was a Tony Chachere’s licensee from 2003 until earlier this year, an arrangement that allowed the company to market its products with Tony Chachere’s trademark. Now that the agreement has ended, Tony Chachere’s contends that Big Easy Foods is using packaging that is meant to look like the Tony Chachere’s brand to confuse consumers.
