For the turnstiles: Tickets for next month’s TEDxLSU 2015 event went on sale at noon today at a discounted early bird price of $60. After 100 early bird tickets are sold, all general admission tickets will be $75. A limited number of $50 tickets are available for LSU students, faculty and staff. On Saturday, Feb. 28, TEDxLSU returns for a third year with a theme of “connect.” At the event, which will take place at the Claude L. Shaver Theater from 1 to 4:30 p.m., a wide variety of speakers will address topics on connectivity in areas ranging from science and medicine to social networks, art and culture. Getting on board: The Capital Area Transit System is looking for up to 10 people who would like to participate in its new Rider Association, which will provide input from a riders’ perspective to improve the system’s service. “Our riders and their satisfaction are critical to the success of the transit system,” CATS CEO Bob Mirabito says in a prepared statement. “Enhancing the ability to integrate diverse rider feedback into our decision making processes is a major goal for 2015.” Membership of the CATS Rider Association will be open to up to 10 people, with at least 70% of the members being current system riders. Hard to swallow: A Kentucky company that brews iced tea inspired by “Duck Dynasty’s” Uncle Si Robertson on the hit A&E reality TV show has filed for bankruptcy, accusing the show’s stars of breaking their promises to promote the beverage. As The Wall Street Journal reports, the beverage maker’s federal lawsuit against Duck Commander Inc.—the Robertson clan’s duck-call business—portrays the “Duck Dynasty” brand as growing too big, too soon. In the glow of the spotlight, Duck Commander has made dozens of licensing agreements to grow its brand.
