Oil and water: The Coast Guard says a tank barge involved in a collision on the Mississippi River has been emptied and moved to a repair facility in Westwego. The Coast Guard estimates that less than 10,000 gallons of oil spilled into the river after the barge pushed by the motor vessel Clarence W. Settoon and a construction barge pushed by another tug collided on Friday about 50 miles upriver from New Orleans. The collision tore a hole in the double-hulled tanker barge. The Coast Guard says it was moved Sunday, adding an investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.

‘Minimal risk’: A suburban New Orleans hospital is notifying patients that their personal information may have been contained on a missing computer hard drive. Ochsner Medical Center says the external hard drive missing from its West Bank campus was used to back up data for bone density scans screening patients for osteoporosis. The scans date back to November 2005. A news release says the missing drive may contain patient names, addresses, birth dates and medical histories. The hard drive was discovered missing on Jan. 19. Ochsner says it believes there is “minimal risk” of disclosure of patients’ personal information because the data was stored in a proprietary format. Ochsner will be sending letters to patients whose data may be on the missing hard drive.

Action! Actor Matthew McConaughey of Lone Star, Dazed and Confused and We Are Marshall fame will be in Baton Rouge beginning in May to shoot his newest movie, according to Louisiana Entertainment. Titled Thunder Run, the film also stars Gerard Butler and Sam Worthington, and is being directed by Simon West. The Internet Movie Database describes the film as “the dangerous and bloody capture of Baghdad by American forces at the onset of the Iraq War.” Check out a list of all upcoming filming projects in the state at the Louisiana Entertainment website here.
