Interrupted: Table Kitchen & Bar, at 4205 Perkins Road in the Southdowns Shopping Center, is temporarily closing to address plumbing issues beneath the restaurant. In a message posted on Table’s Facebook page, the restaurant says that with its insurance claim, it expects to maintain its staff during the repairs and plans to reopen as soon as possible. “We are working with our landlord as well as our insurance company to resolve the issues and we intend to reopen as soon as the repairs are complete,” the restaurant’s statement reads. Updates on the progress of the repairs will be posted to the restaurant’s Facebook page. Truly Free Bakery & Deli closed in Southdowns Shopping Center in April; owners Erick and Ainsley Coughlin also raised issues over the sewer lines. The shopping center’s landlord could not be reached before deadline.
Meals to go: Managed Meals and Erick Coughlin, who started the now closed Truly Free Bakery & Deli in the Southdowns Shopping Center, are teaming up to deliver lighter and healthy meal options to people in the Capital City and surrounding areas. Coughlin will prepare meals based on customers’ individual needs. Managed Meals founder Jessica Kincl says the meal plan falls under her company’s “Personal Chef Experience.” Kincl says the meals plan will cost $60 and include five meals delivered on Sundays. Managed meals will still offer its Southern menu.
Entering a new market: Select Laboratory Software, a health care Information Technology company, is expanding to New Orleans. The firm is partnered with Select Laboratory Partners based in North Carolina. Ryan Williams, a Louisiana native, will lead the New Orleans operations. The company anticipates hiring up to 25 people, with the first five or 10 hires by year’s end. Quentin Messer Jr., New Orleans Business Alliance’s president and CEO, says the entrance of Select Laboratory Software significantly expands the city’s BioInnovation and Health Services cluster. Select Laboratory Software develops cloud-based medical laboratory software that is used in toxicology and clinical labs. The software company has more than 70 managed labs across the country.
