Storm-ready: Mayor Kip Holden says residents should monitor the weather today and make preparations for flooding, as the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for East Baton Rouge Parish and surrounding parishes. “We are asking everyone to check their emergency supplies and confirm that they have adequate provisions and a family emergency kit in place, especially a sufficient supply of prescription medicines and other necessities,” Holden says in an issued statement. “If East Baton Rouge Parish receives the rainfall that is forecast, we could experience flash flooding, so we need to make arrangements now to prepare.” For updates on flooding, downed trees or other conditions, visit redstickready.com or brgov.com.
