Closing time: Longtime West Chimes Street restaurant Reginelli’s Pizzeria has announced plans to close on May 3, The Daily Reveille reports. “This isn’t the best location on campus. Competition with the newer restaurants and it’s just too expensive here. Those are some of the main reasons,” manager Josh Coi tells the LSU student newspaper. “We say thank you for the eight years of good times. It wasn’t a decision we came to lightly. At the bottom: Louisiana is the nation’s least eco-friendly state, according to a new ranking by financial website Wallethub.com. In compiling the ranking, the website says it compared each of the 50 states using 14 key metrics designed to illustrate each state’s environmental quality and the eco-friendliness of its policies. Vermont is ranked as the most eco-friendly state, followed by Oregon, New York, Minnesota and Massachusetts. Trailing Louisiana as the lowest ranked states are Texas, Kentucky, Indiana and Alabama. On file: A group of state employees and retirees is asking a judge to reverse changes made to their insurance program, which cost many Louisiana workers more out-of-pocket for lessened benefits. The lawsuit, announced today, was filed in state district court a day earlier, The Associated Press reports. It claims Gov. Bobby Jindal’s administration didn’t follow state law in reworking the health insurance plans offered through the Office of Group Benefits. Read the full story.
