Deal will allow local gamblers to stay on the Strip: Pinnacle Entertainment, which is building a casino resort on River Road, has formed an alliance with Las Vegas casino operator Steve Wynn. The deal allows customers who earn reward points for gambling at Pinnacle casinos in Louisiana, Missouri, Indiana and Nevada to use them at the Wynn and Encore resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. The deal is a good fit: Pinnacle doesn’t have any properties on the Strip, while Wynn doesn’t have any casinos elsewhere in the U.S.

Useful games: Plying Wii Fit video games can provide adequate exercise to improve health and physical fitness, according to research from two students at Southeastern Louisiana University. The study by Jennifer R. Worley and Sharon N. Rogers, and their adviser, Robert R. Kraemer, found that the Step and Hula games “can be used as an effective mode of physical activity to improve health in adult women.” Players should try to compete at the higher game levels to gain exercise benefits. The research was published in the March issue of The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.
