Camp out: Baton Rouge’s newest Chick-fil-A restaurant doesn’t open until tomorrow but, as of this morning, there were already 40 people in line waiting for the doors to open. Why? Because the first 100 people to enter the restaurant, located off Burbank Drive, near Lee Drive, when it opens tomorrow around 5:45 a.m. will win a year’s supply of weekly chicken sandwich meals, according to a company news release. This is the second Chick-fil-A franchise to open in Baton Rouge this year, with the other being at LSU.
LED: Louisiana Economic Development is expanding its Small and Emerging Business program this summer and is accepting applications for the 2018-2019 session. The program’s roundtables will begin in the next several weeks, with groups of 10-15 business owners meeting 10 times throughout the year to share business challenges and discover solutions in a “safe environment.” The program in Baton Rouge will be held at the Louisiana Technology Park. Prime perks: Amazon Prime is expanding member savings to an additional 121 Whole Foods Market stores across 12 states, including Louisiana, plus all Whole Foods Market 365 stores nationwide. The expansion comes weeks after Amazon increased the subscription cost for Prime members by 20%. Prime members will receive an additional 10% off sale items, plus exclusive weekly discounts on popular items, according to an Amazon news release. Customers also receive exclusive Prime member savings when they have their groceries delivered from Whole Food stores via Prime Now, which launched earlier this year, but that service isn’t available everywhere yet, only in Austin, Dallas, Denver, Sacramento and San Francisco.
