Naming names: BRAC’s political action committee, FuturePAC, announced today that it’s endorsing Republican Metro Council member Scott Wilson in his bid to fill Republican Rep. Clif Richardson’s seat as state representative, District 65. A special election will be held on March 2. Thus far, Wilson and Republican Barry Ivey of Baton Rouge are the only two candidates to qualify for the race, according to the Secretary of State’s website.
Cha-ching! The Louisiana Lottery Corp. says a Powerball Power Play ticket bought in Morgan City is worth $2 million, and an Easy 5 ticket bought in Baton Rouge won the $70,000 jackpot. Nobody won Saturday’s Powerball or Louisiana Lotto jackpots, so Powerball rises to an estimated $70 million for Wednesday’s drawing, while the Lotto jackpot is estimated at $325,000. The Easy 5 jackpot falls to an estimated $50,000.
