In the evening: Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Pediatrics at Goodwood is extending its business hours in an attempt to make it easier for families to get pediatric care in the evenings. The clinic, at 8415 Goodwood Blvd., suite 110, will now be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The extended hours of 5 to 9 p.m. are intended for sick-child visits and not for routine visits for children who are feeling well, clinic officials say. The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. “Our goal is to provide children and their families with greater access to specialized pediatric care when they need it most,” says Dr. Curtis Chastain, OLOL Physician Group president, in a prepared statement.
The big deal: Baton Rouge-based specialty chemical maker Albemarle’s $6.2 billion acquisition of New Jersey competitor Rockwood Holdings Inc., completed in mid-January, has been named Deal of the Year by the Louisiana chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. The association today announced the winners of its eighth annual awards program, which honors companies with outstanding growth, emerging businesses and business leaders.
