Lit up: The next phase of improvements for the sails shading the downtown “paper clip” dock includes the installation of LED lights that change colors with seasonal activity, DDD CEO Davis Rhorer says. Builders recently installed the sails on the frames of the dock’s paper clip structures, which were lit up Friday night and frame images of the downtown skyline. The city-parish Public Works Buildings & Grounds staff will be cleaning the steel frame, painting it and adding lights over the next week. For now, nearby attractions like Louisiana Art & Science Museum and USS Kidd are encouraged to use the space as an extension of their activities.

Making amends: Uber’s new CEO apologized for the company’s past mistakes this morning in a public attempt to show London authorities that the company is willing to change to retain its right to operate in the city.
