Coming together: LSU School of Social Work Interim Dean Daphne Cain sent a letter out today addressing plans to consolidate the social work school with the College of Education and the School of Library and Information Science into one large college. In her letter, Cain says the consolidation has been discussed for a decade and the move follows national trends. “Regardless of realignment into the new college, the School of Social Work will remain strong,” Cain writes. Getting credit: Campus Federal Credit Union has been awarded the 2011 Golden Mirror Award from the Credit Union Executive Society for the redesign of its seven branches throughout Louisiana, including four in Baton Rouge. Ron Moreau, vice president of business development, says Campus Federal completed interior renovations at a branch in Shreveport in May, finishing off a companywide redesign effort that began nearly a year ago. No invite necessary: Once an invite-only affair, Google has opened up its Google Plus social network to everyone after having tested it with a limited audience for 12 weeks. Google said in a blog post today that it will now let anyone sign up for Google Plus. The company also added a search capability to Google Plus that will let users sift through posts on the site.
