Stephen Loy, interim president of the Louisiana Technology Park, has been named president of the 2011 board of directors for the Louisiana Business Incubation Association. The current board is made up entirely of people with ties to Capital Region business incubators: John Ware, of Dixie Business Development Center in Denham Springs is the vice president; Gaye Sandoz of Norco-based Edible Enterprises is the secretary; and Martin Walke of the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority in Baton Rouge is the treasurer.
Looking to replace Mills: Qualifying started today and continues through Friday for a special election to fill a St. Martin Parish-based seat in the Louisiana House. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Rep. Fred Mills, R-Parks, who was elected to the state Senate last month. The election is set for April 2, with a runoff on April 30 if necessary.
