Paper chase: Lamar Advertising Company announced this morning that it seeks to raise approximately $400 million through an institutional private placement of senior notes due 2026 by its wholly owned subsidiary, Lamar Media Corp. The Baton Rouge firm says in a news release that it intends to use the proceeds from the debt sale to pay back a $300 million loan it took out on Jan. 7 to help fund its acquisition of more than 5,500 outdoor signs and digital displays from Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings Inc. for $458.5 million.

Top honors: The Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors has named Cathy Craddock of Mike Walker & Associates Real Estate its Realtor of the Year for 2015. Craddock was honored by GBRAR at a reception on Thursday, along with other annual award winners, which include Melissa Reynolds of Home Bank, Ben R. Downing Jr. Affiliate of the Year; Scott Delhom of Wayne Clark Realty, Rising Star of the Year; Debbie Hanna of Re/Max First, Most Cooperative Realtor; and Dee Robinson of Villar & Company Real Estate, Charles H. Dillemuth Humanitarian of the Year.

Heavy metal: Metal Construction News has named the Main Library at Goodwood as the winner of its 2015 Building and Roof Award for Metal Roofing. “The judges really liked the beautiful use of materials, and said the library’s form is exceptional,” the industry publication writes of the $35.8 million library that opened in January 2014. “They also liked how the entryway with the cantilevered volume above the glass, along with how the wall panels fold into a roofing system, creates a cool-looking building.” The three-story, 126,000-square-foot building was designed by the Library Design Collaborative, a joint venture of Dewberry, Cockfield Jackson Architects, and Tipton Associates.
