Opening soon: Will Edwards, owner of Kolache Kitchen, says he’s ready to open his second location next Wednesday, April 22. Late last year, Edwards inked a five-year lease for the 1,250-square-foot space at 7930 Jefferson Highway, formerly occupied by a Popeyes next to the Bocage LA Rouge Mart convenience store. Unlike the original LSU area location, the second Kolache Kitchen will also feature a small lunch menu with sandwiches and tacos. Hours at the new location will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
In partnership: After relying on its in-house data center to support its business for decades, Community Coffee has selected Baton Rouge-based Venyu to take over its data center services. Financial terms of the agreement are not being disclosed. In a prepared release, Community Coffee Director of Technology David Fahr says moving the company’s servers to Venyu’s data center has “allowed our IT staff to focus more on business development and not be consumed with the routine tasks of keeping the data center running; in addition to providing the application reliability and network scalability needed to properly support our future growth.”
It’s showtime: Shaq & Dale, a new SEC Network and ESPN Films documentary on legendary LSU basketball coach Dale Brown and his most standout player, Shaquille O’Neal, will air this evening at 8 p.m. CST on the SEC Network. “LSU made me who I am today, and you made me who I am today,” O’Neal says to Brown in a preview of the documentary that you can watch online.
