That’s what friends are for: The Florida Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee has set limits on what judges can do on social networking sites, reports the New York Times. Judges can no longer be Facebook friends with attorneys, the panel ruled, saying that there’s a possibility for an appearance of impropriety. It “reasonably conveys to others the impression that these lawyer ‘friends’ are in a special position to influence the judge,” says the panel. The ruling doesn’t have the force of law.
Where people like to eat: California Pizza Kitchen and Texas Roadhouse topped a list of the most recommended casual dining restaurant chains, according to Nation’s Restaurant News. The Recommendation Index, developed by marketing firms Zocalo Group and MARC Research, was based on interviews with more than 1,000 casual dining customers. Participants had a variety of reason for recommending restaurants, including “fast,” “friendly,” “variety” and “reasonable.” Other restaurants that ranked high in the Recommendation Index include Outback Steakhouse, Applebee’s and Olive Garden.
