Familiar names: Three well-known contenders have signed up so far to fill a vacant seat on the Public Service Commission, the state’s utility regulatory body. Former U.S. Rep. Clyde Holloway of Forest Hill, state Sen. Joe McPherson of Woodworth and former state Rep. Gil Pinac of Crowley have qualified this week for the race. Holloway and Pinac are Republicans. McPherson is a Democrat. The special election is April 4 to fill a seat that became vacant when Commissioner Dale Sittig resigned. Pat Manuel was temporarily appointed to the seat until the election. The 4th District seat represents southwest and central Louisiana.
