Everything’s under control: Exxon Mobil Corp.’s 502,000 barrel-per-day Baton Rouge refinery is operating normally today after an equipment failure on Saturday, a company spokeswoman tells Reuters. A compressor failed at the refinery on Saturday and was fixed the same day, Jennifer Hughes says. She did not identify on which unit the compressor was located. The compressor failure triggered flaring at the refinery.

An open invitation to Tiger nation: LSU is offering discounted tickets to various Tigers sporting events to bowlers and their families in town for the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships, taking place now through July 9. The full list of discounted events—starting with Wednesday’s 3 p.m. baseball game and 7 p.m. men’s basketball game—is available here. At the events, bowlers can show their USBC membership card at ticket windows and purchase up to four tickets for the discounted price of $5 each. Bowlers must also show a valid ID with the membership card.

Charbroiled blues: Brad Orrison was recently examining a grill filled with smoked sausages near the ruins of The Shed Barbeque & Blues Joint, his destination music venue and rib mecca in Ocean Springs, Miss., when a tractor trailer rumbled in behind him. “Hello, brother!” he shouted at the driver. By way of explanation, Orrison gestured toward the long black trailer and said, “That’s our kitchen.” It’s been just a little over a week since The Shed was destroyed in a Feb. 12 fire, but food is again being served, and a makeshift outdoor venue has been built by volunteers from mostly donated materials. Orrison says no live music will be canceled due to the fire. Read the full feature from The Times-Picayune here.
