Aisle to aisle: A new bridal shop, I Do Bridal Couture, will open sometime next month in the Southdowns Village Shopping Center, says owner Ramsey Roberts Sims. The boutique will feature popular wedding dresses from Monique Lhuillier Bliss, designer of dresses for celebrities including Reese Witherspoon and Carrie Underwood. Other lines include Project Runway alum designer Heidi Elnora, Liancarlo and Victor Harper. Learn more about the shop by visiting its website here.

In the club: The 136,000-square-foot Sam’s Club next to Bass Pro Shops off Interstate 12 in Denham Springs—the largest Sam’s Club in the state—will open Thursday at 8 a.m. with a ribbon cutting and opening celebration attended by local dignitaries and company officials. Sam’s Club says the new store has created 200 jobs. The warehouse store has a fuel station, hearing aid center and pharmacy.

Brick by brick: Nearly seven years after Hurricane Katrina’s wind and water wrecked the library at Southern University at New Orleans, restoration of the three-story structure is set to begin. The library has been operating out of temporary quarters in the Multipurpose Building. SUNO spokesman David Grubb says the architecture firm for the restoration is Jerry Campbell & Associates of Baton Rouge. Work on the $4.3 million project, which will begin this week, is expected to be complete by next summer.
