Thumbs up: Cheniere Energy today received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a second liquefied natural gas export terminal in Corpus Christi, Texas, joining its ongoing project at the Sabine Pass terminal in Cameron Parish. According to Bloomberg, approval from FERC streamlines the process for permission from the U.S. Department of Energy to ship LNG to countries with which the U.S. doesn’t have a free trade agreement. The company has already secured approval to export from its Sabine terminal, which is expected to begin operating in October 2015. Bloomberg has the full story.
You are what you eat: More than half of Americans say they have enough information to make healthy choices while dining at restaurants, but they want more, according to a poll conducted by The Associated Press. The poll was conducted after the Food and Drug Administration announced new rules that would require establishments that sell prepared foods and have more than 20 locations to include the calorie content of items on their menus. Governor’s travels: Gov. Bobby Jindal won’t waste any time returning to Iowa in 2015, according to a report from The Des Moines Register. Jindal and other potential 2016 presidential candidates are scheduled to attend two closed-door meetings with Iowa religious leaders on Jan. 6, in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. The lunch and dinner events are intended to allow pastors to quiz the candidates and sound out their views without the press and public present, according to the report. Read the full story.
