Hop on: If you need a ride to the Wearing’ of the Green Parade, Capital Area Transit System is again offering its Shamrock Shuttle to and from the parade from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The shuttle will depart from the Interstate 110 overpass area downtown, where riders can park for free, to a drop-off point near the parade route by City Park. A roundtrip pass is $4 per person, and must be paid in cash; CATS recommends having exact change. Passes also can be purchased online. Also at 12:30 p.m., shuttle service will be provided from Stanford Drive/Acadian back to the Catholic Life Center at Hundred Oaks.

Shrinking bank account: Total state revenue was down 10% in February compared to the same time last year, according to the Louisiana Department of Treasury. A February report shows total state revenue for the current fiscal year to date was about $4.8 billion. Despite the decline, the department notes that the rate of the decrease in state revenue has slowed since December 2015, when it had declined 15%; and January 2016, when it declined 12%. The department attributes the slowing decline to an improvement in sales tax collections. General sales tax cash receipts to date for the current fiscal year are $1.8 billion, down 2%—or $46 million—compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. Individual income tax cash receipts to date are $2.2 billion, up 1%—or $28 million—compared to the fiscal year-to-date prior. At the same time, year-to-date general severance tax cash receipts stand at $328 million—down $237 million, or 42%, compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date tally of $565 million.

Paid: Not surprisingly, it pays to be a doctor or a lawyer, the Chicago Tribune reports. Those occupations topped Glassdoor’s list of the highest-paying jobs of 2015. The company-rating website’s survey lists the 25 highest-paying gigs in the country. Doctors earned a median base salary of $180,000 last year, while lawyers pulled in $144,500, to the survey. Also on the list were pharmacy managers, who earned a median base salary of $130,000, and IT managers, who earn a bit less at $120,000 annually. Read the full story.
