Big time: The Baton Rouge Area Chamber is bringing back its Big Think event as part of Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week this fall. BRAC announced this morning that the half-day program will feature national speakers and subject matters experts on topic relating to starting and growing a business. Big Think will take place from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Manship Theatre downtown. The Louisiana Technology Park is presenting the event. New life: A Thailand-based firm plans to invest $175 million to renovate and restart a dormant ethane cracker in Lake Charles, company officials and Gov. Bobby Jindal announced Wednesday. Indorama Ventures is acquiring the plant in a joint investment with Singapore-based Indorama Corporation. The state is providing the companies an incentive package that a $1.5 million performance-based grant for infrastructure costs, among other incentives. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the project will create 125 new direct jobs. LED has more details.

Making waves: Fifteen years after opening its first sushi restaurant in Lafayette, Tsunami is entering the New Orleans market with a restaurant on the first floor of the Pan Am building on the corner of Poydras Street and St. Charles Avenue, its owners have announced. It will be at least 10 months before the New Orleans location is open, the owners say. Tsunami’s Baton Rouge location has been open for 10 years, and a third restaurant opened in the Cypress Bayou Casino & Hotel Charenton this summer.
