More cutters coming: Lockport-based Bollinger Shipyards has won a $179.7 million contract option from the Coast Guard to build four more fast-response cutters. Bollinger now has 12 cutters under the contract, with a value of $597 million. The current contract contains options for up to 34 cutters that could be worth $1.5 billion. The latest cutters are scheduled to be delivered to the Coast Guard in 2014 and ported in Key West, Fla.

Ready for their close-up: West Virginia University students who have built a tent city on the Mountainlair Plaza say they are determined to be close to the action when ESPN airs its College GameDay broadcast from Morgantown on Saturday—and to make sure the state is presented in a positive light. No. 16 West Virginia hosts No. 2 LSU in a prime-time game airing on ABC. ESPN’s daylong coverage of the nation’s college football games begins at 9 a.m CT. Mountaineer fans were camped out in dozens of tents more than a day before ESPN is set to arrive, some since early Thursday evening, just a few hundred yards from the stage.
