It’s all online: You have from now until 2 p.m. Saturday to take part in the state’s first business trade show and expo to be held entirely online: Business Report‘s BizTech Expo. More than 50 of the area’s most progressive companies are staffing virtual booths, and there are also seminars and daily prizes. Today at 3 p.m., nationally recognized speaker and consultant Christel Slaughter of SSA Consultants will be giving a special presentation. If you missed Wednesday’s Top 100 Luncheon, you can watch LSU economist Loren Scott present the “Louisiana Economic Forecast” for 2012-13 in the seminar room. All events are free. Registration and more information on all BizTech events are available by clicking here.

Top pots: There was no shortage of jambalaya downtown Thursday evening at the 24th annual Capital Area United Way Jambalaya Jam. Judges awarded ExxonMobil Complex first place, while St. Elizabeth Hospital took second and Dow Chemical Company third. Best appetizer went to Mexichem for their Cajun cupcakes, and the People’s Choice Award went to Georgia Gulf Chemicals & Vinyls.

Something to cheer about: Ruffino’s will be holding a “Round Up for Chico” event today during lunch and dinner hours to raise money for LSU cheerleading coach Chico Garcia, who was involved in a boating accident on Aug. 29 and has been in critical condition with a spinal-cord injury. Those dining at Ruffino’s today will have the opportunity to donate money by rounding up their bill to any dollar amount they wish. All money collected will go towards Garcia’s medical costs.
