Buckle up: In its latest annual ranking of the nation’s 200 largest cities for driver safety, insurance company Allstate says Baton Rouge slipped 11 spots to No. 145. Allstate says drivers in Baton Rouge are 27.2% more likely to be in an auto accident than the average driver in the U.S. New Orleans is ranked No. 158 on the list, up from a No. 181 ranking last year. Talking Tigers: The LSU Tigers football team may be entering the season ranked No. 14, but its fans are ranked No. 5—for their grammar. USA Today highlights the rankings, which were compiled by writing-enhancement website Grammarly, which analyzed comments made on the SB Nation college football blogs in the runup to the season that opens Saturday. According to the rankings of the fan bases of the nation’s top 25 teams—which has Auburn on top and Alabama dead last—LSU fans made slightly more than two spelling, grammar or punctuation mistakes for every 100 words written. At the table: Three New Orleans restaurants—including Sac-a-lait, the latest venture by New Roads couple Cody and Samantha Carroll—have been included on OpenTable’s listing of the nation’s “top 100 restaurants for foodies.” The restaurant reservation and review website service says it audited more than 5 million of its user reviews on 20,000 restaurants nationwide to compile the list, which also includes Shaya and Square Root in New Orleans. As USA Today reports, newcomers like Sac-a-lait—which opened in March—dominate the list. The majority of OpenTable’s winners debuted in the past five years, and 25% opened in 2015.
