Chance to be an ‘everyday icon’: Baton Rouge native Rusty Hamlin, an executive chef for country star Zac Brown, is one of six people competing to be in Carhartt’s fall marketing campaign, which focuses on “Everyday Icons.” Brown teamed up with the outerwear/workwear brand and is holding a Facebook competition to determine which of the six people who work for him or his Southern Ground companies will be featured in the campaign. In demand: The NFL season is still two days away from kickoff, but ad spots in this year’s Super Bowl have nearly sold out. Five 30-second spots are left, reports USA Today. Those ads have a going rate of $3.5 million each, says Seth Winter, head of sales for NBC Sports, which will televise the Feb. 5 game. Winter says the network expects all the spots to sell out by the end of the year. NBC is requiring Super Bowl advertisers to also buy spots during other sports broadcasts. “It’s not in our best interest to allow someone to just buy the Super Bowl,” Winter told the newspaper. “We are only selling in combination with our other assets.”
