Looking ahead: Republican Scott Angelle, who finished third in the governor’s primary race, is considering a run for the U.S. Senate seat, his best friend Republican state Sen. Fred Mills tells Gannett Louisiana. “I think he’s going to run—keep it going,” says Mills, who Angelle referred Gannett Louisiana to when they requested an interview. “So many people have been calling him and saying, ‘Take a look at the Senate or a Congressional seat.’” Mills says Angelle, an elected member of the Louisiana Public Service Commission, has been spending time with his family and re-energizing since the Oct. 24 governor’s primary. On the rise: Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s presidential campaign is touting Jindal’s rise in an Iowa poll that has him surpassing former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. “Jindal scored 6% support in the survey from Public Policy Polling, one percentage point ahead of Bush, though within the poll’s 3.9 percent margin of error,” The Hill reports. “The poll found that Bush has the highest unfavorable rating of any Republican candidate in Iowa, with 30% viewing him positively and 43% viewing him negatively. Jindal’s 60% favorability rating, meanwhile, is tied for third highest in the state,” notes the Jindal campaign, which has links to the full story by The Hill and other publications reporting on the new poll.
