Robinson will be involved in hospice and home health: Home health provider Amedisys Inc. has given a dual role to one of its top executives. Baton Rouge-based Amedisys says the company’s executive vice president of Hospice, James Robinson, will also work as executive vice president of home health care. The company says Robinson has either led or been the member of the senior management team of five health care companies covering a wide array of specialties. Robinson joined Amedisys last year as executive vice president of hospice.
Blues power: Jonathon “Boogie” Long of Baton Rouge has won Guitar Center’s annual talent search for the nation’s top undiscovered blues guitar player. Long, 22, beat out thousands of guitar players to make it to the final talent show in Hollywood last week, where he played with Warren Haynes, a member of the Allman Brothers Band, and Gov’t Mule. The 2011 King of the Blues won $25,000 in cash, vintage guitar equipment, a studio session with a Grammy-winning producer and a feature in Guitar World magazine. “I’m going to work hard to make the best of this opportunity,” says Long, who fronts the Baton Rouge Soul Explosion and plays with Big Luther Kent.
