Fresh face: The Abita Brewing Company has unveiled new designs across its product line to celebrate the brewery’s 30th anniversary. The new designs will be featured, starting this month, on Abita’s flagship, seasonal and harvest brews. The new look is inspired by the history, colors and art of New Orleans, according to a news release. “Fans will also notice their favorite bottled Abita brews are back in basket carriers. When Abita first offered bottles they debuted in baskets, making it fitting to return to them after all these years,” the news release says. Abita, which debuted in 1986, recently completed a $30 million expansion to increase its brewing capacity to 400,000 barrels annually, the news release says.

Money talks: The Louisiana Research Summit, held to discuss how to increase the flow of federal research dollars into Louisiana, will take place Tuesday at University Medical Center in New Orleans. Organized by U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., the summit will be a collaborative of state, federal, academic and business leaders with some Committee of 100 members participating. The Committee of 100 is a statewide organization of industry and business leaders. Cassidy previously told Daily Report he hopes the summit would be “the first of many meetings to increase the economic benefit of research across the state.” The summit is available via livestream.
