Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal announced this afternoon that he is suspending his struggling campaign for president.
Jindal, Louisiana’s governor since 2008, took to social media and Fox News to make his announcement.
“(My parents) raised me to believe Americans can do anything, and they were right, we can. But this is not my time, so I am suspending my campaign for President,” Jindal says in a post on his Facebook page.
Jindal, 44, announced his presidential run in June. His campaign struggled to gain traction, and his support in the polls never came close to crossing double digits.
As far as future plans, Jindal also announced he will eventually return to work at his Washington, D.C.-based think tank America Next, “where I will be outlining a blueprint for making this the American century.”
