Hours before a scheduled event in Kenner at which Gov. Bobby Jindal is to announce his presidential bid, Jindal has officially announced his candidacy via Twitter.
“I’m running for President of the United States of America. Join me,” Jindal says in the tweet, which carries a link to a website for his campaign.
Jindal is now officially the 13th major Republican candidate vying for the GOP nomination.
