A new restaurant is moving into the space on Nicholson Drive previously occupied by Marty J’s Seafood, Burgers and Poboys. Permits have been pulled for Bullfish Bar + Kitchen, to be located at 4001 Nicholson Drive, Suite D.

The applicant is identified as Carey Legrange, who is a director of CKL Holdings Inc., according to the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office. Legrange could not be reached for comment before press time today.

According to the Louisiana Restaurant Association, Carey Legrange co-owns Bullfish Bar + Kitchen with Kathleen Legrange, who also is listed as a director of CKL Holdings Inc. Earlier this month in a Facebook post, the association welcomed the restaurant as one of its newest members.

In recent years, the Nicholson Drive location has been a revolving door for restaurant tenants. Former Louisiana state Sen. Marty Chabert owned the more recent tenant, Marty J’s Seafood, Burgers and Poboys. Chabert vacated the location once his lease expired. Chabert told Daily Report in January that he decided to close the po-boy shop at the Nicholson location to focus on his Perkins Road restaurant and catering business.

The location also was once home to Leroy’s and Cou-Yon’s.
