A Mandeville-based specialty lingerie store is expanding to Baton Rouge, with a new location in Towne Center. Bra Genie, which has been in business on the North Shore since 2005, is renovating the 2,500-square-foot space next to Don Juan Cigars that was most recently occupied by Relax Your Back. The renovation is expected to be completed next week and the store is scheduled to open midmonth.
Owner Genie Emory decided to move into the Baton Rouge market because of the growth potential, says store manager Kim Murphy.
“We get a lot of customers from Shreveport, Lafayette and Baton Rouge so it just made sense to expand in that direction,” she says.
Bra Genie carries a full line of lingerie and swimwear, though Murphy says what distinguishes the boutique is its range of unique sizes.
