Reed Hastings, Netflix cofounder and CEO, will be the keynote speaker at the fourth annual Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools Conference in Baton Rouge on Friday, Nov. 11. Hastings cofounded Netflix as a movies-by-mail company in 1997. He recently made headlines after raising prices for Netflix customers and announcing the company would split in two, with one company focused on streaming videos online and the other devoted to the company’s traditional movies-by-mail business. In 2005, Time magazine added Hastings to its list of the 100 most influential global citizens. In 2007, he was appointed to Microsoft’s board of directors. Ticket information for the conference will be released in the coming days on the LAPCS website here.
