National engineering firm Neel-Schaffer, one of the largest privately held engineering firms in the South, has signed a lease for 14,000 square feet of office space in Perkins Rowe, bringing occupancy in the mixed-use development’s office building to 94%.
The Jackson, Mississippi-based firm has five office locations throughout south Louisiana, including a local office on Bricksome Avenue. The firm needs a larger space here because it is expanding its presence in the Baton Rouge market, according to Donna Taylor, a spokesperson for Stirling Properties, which handles leasing, and property and construction management for Perkins Rowe.
Perkins Rowe also has letters of intent signed with two new retail tenants, and plans to announce them as soon as leases are finalized. A third previously announced tenant, Alumni Hall, is nearing completion on its new store and will open in June.
Also in June, the first batch of 88 apartment units Stirling has been building out in the rear of the development will be completed. The units are located on the second floor of the building anchored by Anthropologie. In July, the units on the third floor of that building will be completed, and in August, the fourth-floor units will come online.
