A national hospital company has a deal to purchase a controlling stake of Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital. National Surgical Hospital says it will buy 56.9% of the Lafayette hospital in a deal that is set to close in a month. Financial terms were not disclosed. National Surgical Hospital owns and operates 15 surgery centers across the U.S. This will be its first Louisiana location. Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital opened in 2004 with a core group of orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, pain management practitioners and ENT specialists. Last year, doctors performed nearly 8,000 procedures in the 75,000-square-foot building.
