LSU coach Les Miles says he will meet with Michigan representatives to discuss the Wolverines’ head coaching vacancy. The Detroit News, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports Miles will meet with Michigan Athletic Director Dave Brandon on Tuesday in Dallas. Miles, speaking at the news conference during which cornerback Patrick Peterson announced he is forgoing his senior season to turn pro, says he can’t speculate about the substance of the meeting with his alma mater. “The only thing I can tell you is I spent my day today with a number of underclassmen,” Miles says. “I am extremely happy here. There’s a real comfort with my family in Baton Rouge. I think it’s best left that way. I don’t know that there’s anything more to say. There’s no more information than I have just shared with you.” Miles is 62-17 with a national championship in six years at LSU. Rich Rodriguez was fired last week as Michigan’s coach after compiling a 15-22 record in three seasons.
