An informational briefing to update the Metro Council on the status of bridges in the parish will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, before the regular council meeting. Mayor Kip Holden has said repairing or replacing Baton Rouge’s most vulnerable bridges will be a “key component” in the bond issue he presents to the Metro Council next month. But Metro Councilman Chandler Loupe has said Holden is simply trying to strong-arm voters into approving a bond issue with scare tactics. Read a Daily Report story about the bridge discussion here.
