In a memo to employees, Community Coffee on Wednesday announced the promotion of Matt Saurage to chairman of the board, succeeding Norman Saurage, who served 26 years as chairman. Norman Saurage was re-elected as director of the board and will continue providing counsel and insight—which he accumulated over a 60-year career—for the company. Matt Saurage sent the memo to employees and notes that he has spent 17 years with the family company preparing in different roles for the chairmanship. The new chairman also provided the results of other officer elections within the company: David Belanger, president and chief executive officer; Annette Vaccaro, senior vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer; and Danny Hebert, vice president of human resources. In other departments, the following were re-elected to their positions: Mike Bourgeois, vice president of coffee-service sales; Stanton Brown, vice president of marketing; Steve Frantz, vice president of grocery sales; Carl Leonard, vice president of green coffee; and Joyce Harper, corporate secretary. The elections were held in the annual meeting of the board of directors of the company.
