Just shy of six months since Bill Cassidy ousted her, former U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu is returning to work.
Washington D.C.-based lobbying firm Van Ness Feldman announced today that Landrieu is joining the firm as a senior policy adviser on public policy, strategic and regulatory issues with an emphasis on energy, natural resources and infrastructure.
In the Senate, Landrieu had been chairwoman of the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, and the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
In a prepared statement, Landrieu says she’s proud to join Van Ness Feldman, adding she has “always respected the firm and worked closely with them during my 18 years in the Senate.”
Bob Szabo, who coordinates the firm’s public policy practice, says in a news release that Landrieu has been a key leader in energy, disaster response management, coastal restoration, and balanced development of public lands and assets. Richard Agnew, the firm’s chair, says Landrieu’s “collaborative style, tenacity and focus on results will advance our firm’s core practice areas and makes her an ideal fit with Van Ness Feldman.”
Coming with Landrieu is executive assistant Marianna Knister, a native of New Orleans who worked for Landrieu in the Senate.
