Former Assistant Secretary to the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Marjorie McKeithen has signed on with Jones Walker as an independent contractor. She’ll work with the law firm’s energy industry and government relations teams in the New Orleans office. McKeithen, who also served as secretary for the Louisiana Mineral Board, oversaw granting and administering of mineral leases on state-owned lands and water bottoms. She was in private practice from 1996 to 2006 after clerking for U.S. District Judge Frank Polozola. Before that, she served as campaign manager to her father, W. Fox McKeithen, when he initially ran for Louisiana Secretary of State. She currently serves on the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. “Ms. McKeithen is very well respected throughout the state for her knowledge of state environmental issues and for her conscientious service to the Louisiana Mineral Board,” says Jones Walker Managing Partner William Hines. “She will be an invaluable resource to the firm.”
