With a new strategic plan, LSU is putting its focus into improving Louisiana.
LSU President F. King Alexander tells The Advertiser in a new interview that he wants to see the university use its tools of teaching, research and service to tackle issues like ensuring Houston and Baton Rouge never flood again or transforming K-12 education.
To that end, LSU is implementing a plan called Leading Louisiana. Impacting the World to improve Louisiana.
The plan focuses on six challenges and goals: advancing arts and culture, bridging the coast, energy and environment, fostering research and catalyzing economic development, improving health and well-being, transforming education, and developing leaders.
“We believe we’re the only ones capable of touching the entire state,” Alexander says.
