The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine has been awarded an $11.1 million federal grant to continue development of its Center for Experimental Infectious Disease Research. The grant comes five years after the initial $9.9 million award from National Center for Research Resources. CEIDR is an alliance of the vet school, the LSU College of Basic Sciences and the Tulane National Primate Research Center. Thomas Klei, associate dean for research and advanced studies at the vet school, says the grant will allow CEIDR to continue the expansion of its research program in infectious disease.
