LSU senior offensive tackle Greg Shaw is one of five LSU agricultural business undergrads who collectively won a business competition recently at the 2012 National Grocers Association Annual Convention in Las Vegas. The LSU team’s presentation for a mobile-based coupon promotion strategy for a 10-store independent grocery chain was tops among seven other leading food and agribusiness programs in the country. “Our students competed against some of the best and brightest undergraduate students from across the country,” says Josh Detre, one of the team’s advisers from the LSU Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. “To come away as champs is a testament to both their hard work and to the quality education they are receiving.” Along with Shaw, other members of the LSU team were Kaitlyn Dunn, Alexander Guinn, Cassandra Rideau and Rawley Webber. Presentations were judged by independent grocery store owners as well as executives at Kellogg.
