LSU football coach Les Miles has indefinitely suspended starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson and reserve linebacker Josh Johns after Baton Rouge Police issued arrest warrants today against the men. Both men face felony second-degree battery charges for their role in a fight last week at Shady’s, a Tigerland bar. The fight allegedly caused four people to go to the hospital, including one man who suffered three cracked vertebrae and another who suffered contusions to his head, nose and hands. Miles says no timetable has been set for Jefferson and Johns’ return. LSU is set to open its football season Sept. 3 against nationally ranked Oregon. Wide receiver Russell Shepard has been declared ineligible by the NCAA and will also miss the Oregon game.
