LSU is among 300 colleges in the nation that offer the best bang for your buck, according to the latest annual ranking of “America’s Best Value Colleges” by Forbes.
With in-state tuition of $9,714, LSU is No. 88 overall in the rankings, and is No. 44 among public colleges and universities.
To determine the rankings, Forbes evaluates high education institutions in six areas: alumni earnings, net price, net debt, timely graduation, school quality and the population of Pell Grant recipients.
The University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of California, Berkeley, topped this year’s rankings, which do not include private for-profit schools. Other Louisiana schools on the list include Louisiana Tech (No. 148) and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (No. 205).
“Universities should be measured by the ways they impact families—student debt, starting salaries, graduation rates, and financial aid support. These are the areas important to students when making a college choice, and at LSU, these are the areas we focus on to make sure students obtain an affordable and competitive college degree,” LSU President F. King Alexander says in a statement.
