LSU’s Master of Business Administration program is ranked No. 29 in the nation among similar programs at public colleges or universities on Forbes magazine’s new listing of America’s Best Business Schools, LSU says. When private schools are factored in, LSU ranks No. 54 nationally.

The biennial list ranks business schools based on their MBA programs’ return on investment. This year’s list, the ninth, based its rankings on the ROI achieved by the class of 2010. Forbes surveyed 17,400 alumni at 95 schools around the globe, comparing their earnings in their first five years out of business school to their opportunity cost—two years of forgone compensation, tuition and required fees—to arrive at a five-year MBA gain, which determined the final rank.

According to Forbes’ data, the average LSU Flores MBA student salary, before joining the program, in the class of 2010 was $25,000. Four years after graduation, the average salary among the class of 2010 was $81,000. The total five-year MBA gain was $28,700.

“Our alumni continually recognize the return on investment from their experience in the Flores MBA Program,” says Dana Hart, director of the LSU Flores MBA Program, in a prepared statement. “The recent Forbes ‘Best Business Schools’ ranking clearly illustrates this, as we are once again ranked among exceptional MBA programs across the country.

The top five ranked MBA programs in the nation are Stanford, Harvard, Northwestern, Columbia and Dartmouth. See the complete rankings.

The Forbes ranking comes a week after LSU was ranked No. 129 on U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 Best Colleges list, unchanged from a year ago but up six spots from two years ago. Among all public colleges and universities in the country, however, LSU’s ranking rose one spot on the new list to No. 62.
