The LSU Healthcare Network in New Orleans is one of two regional health systems in the country that have entered into a new clinical affiliation with CVS Health to enhance access to health care services.
Under the partnership, patients of the LSU network have access to clinical support, mediation counseling, chronic disease monitoring and wellness programs at CVS pharmacy stores and MinuteClinic, the retail medical clinic division of CVS Health.
“Through these clinical affiliations, we will also be integrating our electronic medical records and information systems to enable us to support patients with medication counseling and chronic disease monitoring,” says CVS Chief Medical Officer Dr. Troyen A. Brennan in a prepared statement.
CVS says the other regional health system that’s entering into the partnership with it is Shawnee Mission Health in Kansas. CVS says it previously has entered into 50 such partnerships with other regional health systems and health care providers.
