Louisiana’s initial unemployment insurance claims rose slightly for the week ending July 26, according to data released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The state reported 1,914 initial claims, up from 1,827 the previous week—a 4.8% increase. Compared to the same period last year, when 1,838 initial claims were filed, the number represents a modest 4.1%
